Hi Jenny

  • On the South Campus we have 3 pools, 2 at the residences, and one at the Sports Centre.
  • On the North Campus the residences have one.
  • On the 2nd Ave Campus there is one at the gym
  • There is also a pool on the George Campus.

To my knowledge there is no gym at 2nd Avenue campus or rather its not operational???

Maybe they shut down the gym, but the pool is still there. Don't know who's in charge of it now.

The pool on the 2nd Avenue campus was part of the gym. The gym has been converted into offices and the archives of the university. The pool is unfortunately no longer operational.

The gym at 2nd ave was managed by the Sport Management staff and students (academic programme) The swimming pool was never part of the gym. We as sport management did however agree to keep an eye on the pool in terms of who was using it etc. The maintenanvce and upkeep of the pool was - and still is -the responsibility of the sport department (now solely situated at south campus). How sad it is to see both these wonderful facilities and services no more. The gym is now offices and the pool has been left to become derelict. The students/staff at 2nd ave now have no healthy recreational services to participate in.
