A picture of the signs I was talking about and that shock and disturb me to the core of my being

As I was writing up http://connect.nmmu.ac.za/Blogs/Developing-and-Testing-An-Applied-Applied-Dialecti/July-2014/Values-and-morals-as-standards-of-judgement; http://connect.nmmu.ac.za/Blogs/Developing-and-Testing-An-Applied-Applied-Dialecti/July-2014/Meaningful-life ; http://connect.nmmu.ac.za/Blogs/Developing-and-Testing-An-Applied-Applied-Dialecti/July-2014/Middle-East-problems

My friend sent me a picture, that I am attaching here, of the sign held by two young Jewish Israeli girls. He said he took it off twitter it was twitted by an Israeli girl ,University of Jerusalem.

If he means the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, then he means the best University in Israel and where I did my graduate work in theoretical and critical humanistic and dialectical psychology of the human subject.  On the other hand, the University is now on the Summer holiday.  The students are away.

The signs the two girls are holding say

"Hating Arabs is not racism, it is values" And then down the sign of King David star in smaller letters "Israel demands revenge"

I find this utterly shocking and disturbing.

This is not the Israel I know - that was found as a reaction to the Shoa and the Progroms.

But then the people who write these signs find my liberal democratic values equally disturbing and shocking.  As much as I find their views shocking.

I am a self-hating Jew for them.  I was called a  "Kapo" in Israel before, as well as a traitor and self-hating Jewboy.  A Kapo is a Nazi death camp prisoner/inmate, usually a Jew, who helped the Nazis run the camp.  This was in reaction to my pro-co-existence views and anti-occupation protests.  My liberal reform rabbi friend was called "a very sick/ill man" for condemning and protesting against these anti-Arabs views and values. And he defends his right to express them.

Still who gave them the right to speak in the name of "Israel" and eliminate my belonging to "Israel" ?  My values and views are also part of Israel and dialectics of being Israelis.

It is also part of the dialectics  of fusing contradictory views and positions and the tension between them to qualitatively transform and conceptualise.

From my end, I am hoping Israelis will see and reflect on the sign, feel sick, and sickened like me, and a disturbing tension, reflect on our history, and on our education system, including on the trips to Auschwitz, to lament on what the Gentiles did to us, and how much we need to take revenge on the Gentiles, and not to district 6 in Cape Town and south End, here in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where they can se what racism is.  And use the tension constructively and creatively to qualitatively transform our fragile democracy and reverse fascist dangers to it.

If we let this sign eliminate liberal democracy through the Either Or, and If then, logics, or condone and explain it as a matter of few disturbed individuals, then we will find ourselves in a place where Israeli  liberal democrats are sent to be re-educated by reading and memorizing Meir Kahana's writings and speeches, and a few well-selected books that we failed to warn against.  And those two youngsters will guard them and punish them if they do not memorize it all.

From their perspective and end, liberal democrat Israelis, like myself, are responsible for "Israel's weakness and vulnerable".  They use me to fuse the two alternative contradictory perspectives/positions,  feel sick and the dialectical tension, and to qualitatively transform their views of a strong national and religious Kingdom of Israel that follows the Halacha and the Jewish scriptures that they specifically select.

If they win, I shall exercise my right to use all means, including military ones, to bring liberal democracy back as I am not a pacifist and justify wars like World War II.
